The story takes place in a fictional fantasy world, in which everyone has a book of life from birth, and everyone's life will develop step by step according to the script written in the book. Ax (voiced by Ryota Oosaka) is an outlier because his book of life is blank. In order to find clues to his own destiny, Ax embarked on a journey. Along the way, Ax met many fellow travelers with abnormal books of life, including the mysterious tuning shrine maiden Reina (voiced by Reina Ueda), the cool and unrestrained strong young man Tao (voiced by Takuya Eguchi), and the self-willed and casual girl Shion (voiced by Miyu Kubota). Ax met many fellow travelers with abnormal books of life, and formed a deep friendship in the process of traveling together.
