Loosely based on the 1996 film of the same name written by Olivier Assayas and starring Maggie Cheung, the limited series revolves around American movie star Mira, who is disillusioned by career problems and a recent breakup. Mira travels to France to play Irma Vep in a remake of the classic French silent film Le Vampyre. During the filming of this crime thriller, Mira gradually finds that the distinction between herself and her character is blurring. Le Vampyre will reveal the fuzzy areas between fiction and reality, art and truth, art and life.
