On the surface, Ray (Liev Schreiber) is an ordinary middle-aged man. In fact, he is engaged in a mysterious job full of excitement and danger - solving the "unspeakable troubles" for celebrities and scholars in the upper class. In the eyes of customers, Ray is an omnipotent God, but Ray, despite solving various "difficult and complicated diseases", has never been able to "cure" his own life. Ray's father Mike (Jon Voight) has just come out of prison. Can his family and society tolerate this cynical old man?
