"See You in Heaven", directed and acted by French actor Albert Duponty, is adapted from the novel of the same name by the master of crime fiction Pierre Maître. It tells the story of two soldiers who were punished for witnessing their superior's crime. Unexpectedly, after retirement, their superior became prosperous while they were left penniless. In order to prevent the villain from succeeding, they decided to seek justice for themselves. The film brilliantly depicts the French society after World War I, from the muddy battlefields with blood and flesh flying to the gorgeous parties with extravagance and debauchery. However, even the gorgeous masks cannot cover up the pain of life behind them.
