The story tells that Su Can was born in a family of officials, cynical and frivolous at a young age. At the Gun Smoke Conference, his father, Guangzhou Admiral Su Gui, was assassinated by Shuo Tuo and his gang and almost died. Su Can therefore had a grudge with Shuo Tuo and also met Liu Jiang, the leader of the Beggar Gang. Shen Luyu (played by Zhou Luoyi) of Zuimenglou was his confidante, and she never left Su Can when Su Can was hit by Shuo Tuo many times. Shuo Tuo was worried that Su Gui would find out that he colluded with the West to resell opium, so he killed more than 30 members of the Su family and broke Su Can's limbs for favoritism and fraud. It was thought that Su Can would be depressed because of this, but unexpectedly, Su Can rebounded and followed Liu Jiang to practice kung fu. In order to fulfill his father's gunpowder, he fought against Shuo Tuo and finally worked with Gu Ying, the Left Imperial Censor, to bring Shuo Tuo and his gang to justice.
