China's first military sitcom. The cooking squad of a grassroots company of the Air Force has several people: the squad leader Fat Hong (Hong Jiantao) who often says that he should calmly handle the big and small matters in the squad but never handles them well; the deputy squad leader Lao Gao (Fan Ming) who likes to pick on others and tell tales and wants to be the squad leader; the enthusiastic and capable but impulsive purchaser Da Zhou (Zhou Xiaobin); the Henan boy Xiao Mao (Maohai) who is short but has many ideas and loves to sing and make trouble; the handsome Hu (Sha Yi) who is very good at steaming steamed buns and likes to write articles; and the fat Xiao Jiang (Jiang Chao) who is like Fat Hong, loves to eat and drink, and sometimes brags. These six people, together with the company commander and soldiers from other squads, have a series of interesting stories about eating and not eating around the small cooking squad.
