Rome, summer, a group of tourists shuttled through it. This breathtakingly beautiful ancient city is tempting them with a mysterious and cold attitude. However, in the eyes of Jep Gambardella, Rome is a lonely city. Jep (played by Tony Servillo), 65 years old, is a successful journalist, elegant and charming. A literary work written in his youth made him famous and wealthy in his early years. He tossed around in all kinds of wanton luxury and social life, and witnessed the emptiness and secrets behind this beautiful city with a pair of cold and almost numb eyes. When the soprano's aria sounded again, Jep, who wandered between civilian life and the upper class, began to regain those lost memories of youth.
