In the 1930s, in Franklin, the United States, the three Bondurant brothers Forrest (Tom Hardy), Howard (Jason Clarke) and Jack (Shia LaBeouf) were doing a thriving bootlegging business and were well-known locally. However, the real local gangster boss was Floyd Banner (Gary Oldman). Forrest's bar had a new waitress, Maggie Beauford (Jessica Chastain), and Jack fell in love with Bertha Minnix (Mia Wasikowska), the daughter of a priest. Jack often tinkered with some novel things with his good friend Cricket Pate (Dane DeHaan), but in the eyes of his two brothers, he was always a child who could not really participate in their business. The new police officer Charley Rakes (Guy Pearce) is very dissatisfied with the three Bondurant brothers and repeatedly provokes trouble. How will the three brothers face the challenges?
