Phil (Bill Murray) is a weatherman. In addition to giving the audience a humorous weather forecast in front of the camera every day, he also goes to a border town called Sue's on February 2 every year to report the local Groundhog Day celebration. In fact, Phil is quite disdainful of this festival and begins to feel tired of his work. When he routinely completes this year's report, he can't wait to return home, but he is delayed by a sudden snowstorm. After waking up the next day, Phil unexpectedly found that time still stayed on the previous day's Groundhog Day, and everything yesterday was replayed. Surprise, disbelief, excitement, ecstasy, boredom, anxiety, uneasiness, despair, fatigue and other emotions take turns to invade Phil's sensory field, but no matter how he chooses to spend this day, he can never move forward and begins his repetitive life.
