Oscar (James Franco) is a circus magician who can only do a few tricks, but he is accidentally brought from the dusty Kansas City to the magical and wonderful Land of Oz by a tornado. The residents there believe that he is a legendary great magician who has descended from the sky, and pray that he will defeat the vicious evil witch and save the Land of Oz, but Oscar, who has evil intentions, sees this situation as a great opportunity to make a fortune. The three witches who claim to be the guardians of the Land of Oz, Sedora (Mila Kunis), Enola (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), have their own doubts about Oscar's identity. When the dark forces are pressing in, Oscar is forced to get involved in the dispute. He finds that he must open his eyes and distinguish which of these beautiful witches are good and which are evil, enemies and friends, otherwise all the good things will be destroyed. Oscar decides to fight the evil witch, but how can his magic skills compete with the witch's powerful and evil magic? What will happen to the future of Oz?
