From Shondaland and new showrunner Jess Brownell, Bridgerton returns for its third season. Last season, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) finally lets go of her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), after hearing his disparaging comments about her. She decides it’s time to find a husband, preferably one who will allow her to be independent enough to continue her double life as Lady Westdown away from her mother and sisters. But due to a lack of confidence, Penelope’s attempts at the marriage market fail miserably. Meanwhile, Colin returns from his summer tour looking refreshed and in high spirits. But he’s dismayed to discover that Penelope, the one person who has always admired him, is slowly snubbing him. In an effort to salvage their friendship, Colin offers to coach Penelope on how to develop her confidence and help her find the right husband this season. But as his lessons start to work, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are really just friendship. For Penelope, her feud with Eloise (Claudia Jessie) complicates matters further: Eloise finds a new friend in an unlikely place, while Penelope's increasing attention makes it harder to keep another secret about her role as Lady Westdown.
