The story takes place in 930 AD, during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period in Chinese history. In Taiyi Mountain in the Yangtze River Basin, there is a Taiyi Academy built in the era of Wu Zetian. It is one of the two most famous academies in the world and is regarded as a holy place for scholars to study. The rumor that the "Zetian Treasure" is in Taiyi Mountain has made the local authorities and ambitious people focus on Taiyi Academy. Under the attention of all parties, Taiyi Academy ushered in the new school year, and a group of new students enrolled. Among them, Zhang Yi (real name Kong Renyu), the descendant of the Confucius Mansion who hid his real name, Li Jingyu, the prince of Southern Tang, Duanmu Zheng, the heir of Mohism, Cui Jialuo, the daughter of the patriarch of Qinghe Cui clan, Wang Enzhu, the exiled princess of Goryeo, and Zhang Ying (real name Zhang Ying), Zhang Yi's sister, all came for the "Zetian Treasure". After several emergencies in the early days of school, the six became partners, while exploring the whereabouts of the "Zetian Treasure" and solving various crises and events together. Everyone has a painful past. Through getting along and accompanying each other, and in the warmth of friendship and love, everyone comes out of the pain and grows up gradually.
