In Hong Kong in the early 1960s, Mr. Liu (played by Zhang Guozhu) was originally a writer, but due to "bad luck", he had to rely on writing inferior martial arts novels and pornographic novels to make a living. The reality was very different from the life that Mr. Liu had once pursued. The necessity of life made Mr. Liu depressed, so much so that he went out drunk day and night, trying to numb himself to escape reality. Although he was not young, Mr. Liu was still like a floating duckweed and had no fixed nature, moving everywhere. At first, he met Sima Li (played by Guo Shanheng), the landlord's daughter, who was only 17 years old, in the small house he rented. She often seduced him, and he was forced to move out after being discovered by the landlord. There were more women coming in and out of his life, such as his confidante Zhang Lili (played by Jiang Meiyi) and the young dancer Yang Lu (played by Jiang Zuman)... How can Mr. Liu, who is anesthetized by pornography and alcohol, save himself? The film is adapted from the novel of the same name "The Drunkard" by Hong Kong writer Liu Yichang.
