This film is based on the 2003 video game of the same name by Ubisoft. Fifteen years ago, the orphan Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) was adopted by the Persian king for his bravery and bellicosity at the market. Fifteen years later, the grown-up Dastan went on an expedition with his two brothers and uncle (Ben Kingsley) to attack the holy city of Aramut, and was promised by the king to marry the Aramut Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton). Dastan accidentally got the "Sand of Time" dagger that Princess Tamina tried her best to protect, but was falsely accused of poisoning the old king and was forced to flee. In order to clear his name and ensure that the great Persian Empire would not fall into his hands, Dastan forced Princess Tamina to enter the infamous "Slave Valley" with him and disrupted the ostrich competition of Chief Amal (Alfred Molina). At the old king's funeral, Dastan finally discovered the murderer behind the scenes, and Princess Tamina finally told the secret of the "Sand of Time"...
