The film is adapted from the novel of the same name published by French writer Franz-Olivier Giesbert in 2006. The story is based on a real mob fight in Jacquebet in France in the late 1970s. Charly Matte (Jean Reno) was once a godfather of the Marseille gang. After a long career in the Marseille Mafia, he bid farewell to his chaotic life and began to walk on the right path.
