This Singaporean film was shortlisted for the 69th Cannes Film Festival (2016) Critics Week. This is the feature film debut of Singaporean K. Huaze Gaobai, with Chinese Huang Lu as the female lead. The title is a metaphor for identity. Singapore has always been a model of a modern country where multiple races live in harmony. However, the native Indian Singaporean director K. Rajagopal unexpectedly focused his camera on the lower class of Singapore in his feature film debut, thinking about identity, race and human destiny in the underground of Little India and the unknown riverside jungle.
