Xiao Qi (voiced by Gui Lun-mei) was born on the day Chiang Kai-shek passed away. She grew up during a period when Taiwanese society was undergoing the most dramatic changes. When Xiao Qi was six years old, she moved to Xingfu Road, New Taipei City with her family. In order to meet her parents' expectations, she strived to move up, but perhaps there is no shortcut to happiness. She took a path that she had not expected at the time, working in the United States, getting married, and reaching a bottleneck in her life. When her grandmother passed away, she returned to her hometown. Looking back on her childhood, she slowly pondered the path she had taken: "After growing up, have I become the ideal adult I wanted to be?"
