Introduction

After the U.S. invaded Iraq, Sergeant Williams James (Jeremy Renner) was transferred to the bomb disposal team of the Army's Desperate Company to replace his colleague who had just died in Baghdad. The other two members of the bomb disposal team, the liaison officer Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) and the special forces soldier Owen (Brian Geraghty) who was responsible for cover, were quite disgusted with the impulsive Williams. However, during the bomb disposal operation in the United Nations building, Williams, who resisted the order and forcibly defuse the bomb, was praised by Colonel Reid (David Morse). During a warehouse bomb disposal mission, Williams believed that the Iraqi boy used as a corpse bomb was Beckham (Christopher Sayegh) who sold pirated DVDs and met him in the military camp. The death of Beckham Jr. made Williams even crazier, and he left the barracks secretly and went into the city alone to investigate... The film won six awards at the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Effects.
