This film is a masterpiece full of philosophical propositions that Kubrick spent four years making. A large black stone stands in front of prehistoric humans, who have just begun to recognize tools and enter a milestone in evolution. The same black stone also appears in many places in the universe. They stand on the moon and float in space, carrying some mysterious meanings. The time is now 2001. In order to find the root of the black stone, humans have launched a Jupiter landing plan. There are three hibernating astronauts on the spacecraft, Captain David (Keir Dullea), Pilot Frank (Gary Lockwood), and a highly intelligent computer called "HAL9000". HAL went wrong during the space flight, causing Frank and three hibernating personnel to die one after another, leaving Bowman to fight with the computer. David, who came back from the line of death, turned off the main brain system in a rage, and HAL completely failed. Now, David is the only one left in the vast universe, heading towards Jupiter. Passing through the magnificent star gate, David seems to have gone to a peculiar time and space, where there are endless human life and death cycles and the ultimate knowledge of the universe... 2001: A Star Gate[2001] .
