Shigematsu Kiyoshi's novel "Kite" will be adapted into a movie for the first time. The novel once won the "No. 1 in the Kagawa Bunko Selection". The film will be directed by Takahisa Zeze ([Heaven's Story]), and Abe Hiroshi and Kitamura Takumi ([Nian Nian Shou Ji]) play father and son in the film. The story tells that in Japan in the 1980s, Ichikawa Yasuo was an employee working in a freight company. His wife Ichikawa Misako had just given birth to their son Asahi, but an accident caused Misako to lose her life. In order to protect Asahi, Yasuo and the people around him decided not to tell Asahi about his mother's accident. The film will be released in Japan in 2022.
