One night in 2012, Atsuya (Ryosuke Yamada), Shota (Nijiro Murakami) and Yukihira (Kanichiro), who grew up in an orphanage, robbed a female entrepreneur. When their car broke down, they fled to a grocery store that had already closed down. The store, called Namiyya Grocery Store, was previously run by a witty and kind old man, Namiyya Yuji (Toshiyuki Nishida). Decades ago, he helped children solve various problems as a joke, and later became more and more famous, so that some people came to him to consult about the problems in their lives. The store, which should have been quiet since 1980, received troublesome consultation letters after the three people broke in. Later, Atsuya and others discovered that these letters came from the distant past. On a mysterious night, lost young people wrote to help others solve their problems, and their fate was closely linked to this grocery store that solved their problems... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by the popular Japanese mystery writer Keigo Higashino.
