Following the ratings and word-of-mouth performance of "White House Farm Murders" and "Dance", ITV has booked the next true crime series "The Yorkshire Ripper" (tentative title). George Kay, the screenwriter of "Killing Eve" and "Chamber: UK", is responsible for the script, and the director of "White House Farm Murders" is directing. The 6-episode series is based on Michael Bilton's book "Wicked Beyond Belief: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper". It will tell one of the world's most notorious and shocking serial killer cases, the hunt for Peter Sutcliffe, known as the "Yorkshire Ripper". Between October 1975 and January 1981, the police conducted the largest manhunt in British criminal history. The search for Sutcliffe lasted five years, with more than a thousand police officers involved, and completely changed the way the British police work. The drama will not only focus on the work of the police, but also on the victims and their families, as well as those who were attacked but not believed by others and whose lives were changed forever. Screenwriter George Kay said: "This is not a story about the Yorkshire Ripper, but a story about how Yorkshire was torn apart."
