Zhou Xiaolong (played by Stephen Chow) lives in Tai O with his father Zhou Feihong (played by Yuen Wah). He and his apprentice Maomao (played by Teresa Mo) are a pair of simple lovers. One day, Xiaolong's uncle Mao Yan (played by Leung Ka Yan) went to Tai O to hide from debt. Feihong asked Ah Yan to bring his son Xiaolong to Hong Kong for development. Ah Yan accidentally discovered Xiaolong's superb billiards skills and decided to use Xiaolong for gambling.
