Young Kyle (Channing Tatum) works in the Capitol Security Department after retiring from the front line in Afghanistan. His ultimate dream is to protect President Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Kyle and his divorced wife have a daughter Emily (Joey King) who is in elementary school. Because of her father's experience in the army, she has become a political fan, especially worshiping President Sawyer and the White House. In order to make his daughter happy, Kyle promised to take her on a one-day tour inside the White House, and by the way, he went to apply for a job in the Secret Service led by Carol (Maggie Gyllenhaal) on the same day.
