In 1940, Churchill established a new intelligence organization, the Special Operations Bureau, or SOE for short. One of its branches was responsible for overseeing French operations. In 1944, this branch paid a heavy price to ensure the success of the Allied landing. Louise (Sophie Marceau) had just lost her husband and was taken back to France by her brother to join SOE. The mission she accepted was to rescue a British geologist who had fallen into the hands of the enemy. He had in his hands the map of fortifications arranged by the German army in Normandy, which was almost the entire key to the Allied landing. There were several other girls fighting with Louise. The prostitute Jeanne (Julie Depardieu) was sentenced to death for killing her own guests, and SOE promised that she would be exempted as long as she completed the mission. Suzy and Gaëlle, who joined later, both had a sad past that was unknown to the public. When they contributed their wisdom and talents to the Allies, could the mission succeed and could they get out of it unscathed?
