During the Cultural Revolution, the family of the young girl Xiaoju was persecuted. Xiaoju herself was hanged in her own home. The murderer disguised the scene as suicide... More than a decade later, a movie was being filmed intensively. The sound engineer Huo Feng (played by Chen Xiguang) was not satisfied with the scene effect and took the heroine Yu Hong (played by Pan Jie) back to her residence to do the sound effects. The old building where Huo Feng lived was facing demolition.
