The film is adapted from the real event of "3,000 orphans entering Inner Mongolia" in history: In the late 1950s, New China suffered from severe natural disasters, and a large number of orphans in the south faced the crisis of malnutrition. At this juncture, the Party Committee and Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region took the initiative to ask the central government to take nearly 3,000 orphans to the prairie and hand them over to the simple and kind herdsmen for adoption based on the principle of "taking one, keeping one alive, and making one strong". Here, the children far away from their hometown will learn to integrate into the new environment and family, and face their new family members. And all their anxiety and pain will be resolved one by one by the touching love of the world.
