The story takes place in the early 1990s. After her father's death, adolescent Jemin is sent to live with her relatives, who are devout Jehovah's Witnesses. There, Jemin establishes an unexpected connection with Malik, the daughter of a Witness elder. They are immediately attracted to each other and begin a secret, unspoken underground relationship. However, when the attraction between them becomes impossible to hide any longer, the religious community begins to separate them, forcing the two girls to choose between faith and love.
