On a quiet morning in Philadelphia without any warning, former UN investigator Gary Lane (Brad Pitt) drove his wife Karen (Mireille Enos) and two daughters Rachel (Abigail Hargrove) and Connie (Sterling Jerins) out. Who knew that the originally happy atmosphere would soon be replaced by panic and death, with serial explosions, panicked people fleeing, disordered car accidents and zombies biting others, and the prosperous metropolis fell in an instant. Gary took great pains to escape with his wife and daughter, and finally fled to the aircraft carrier where the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations was located, and then learned that several heads of major countries, including the President of the United States, had died, and the zombie virus had spread all over the world. In order to prevent the destruction of the world, Gary was reluctantly ordered to go to the source of the virus with Fassback (Elyes Gabel), a virology doctor from Harvard, to find a way to resolve the crisis.
