Wukong (played by Chen Xinzhe) fights Tathagata, who slaps Wukong under the Five Elements Mountain with one palm, and also creates a 500-year time gap in the Journey to the West world. During these 500 years, Wukong waits for the arrival of Tang Monk (played by Chi Chongrui), who is seeking scriptures. Taibai Jinxing brings him a Yuanshen Pearl, claiming that he can regain his freedom as long as he sends the pearl to Lingtai Fangcun Mountain. Wukong is ordered to leave the mountain to gain freedom. Along the way, he and the curious and brave Tianwei (played by Dong Jiuhe) rescue the intellectual and innocent Fairy Huayin (played by Fu Mengni).
