The story begins in northern Europe 20,000 years ago, during the Ice Age. Koda (Kodi Smit-McPhee) was the son of the tribal leader. During a collective hunting operation, he unfortunately fell off a cliff and lost all his news. Everyone thought Koda was dead, but fortunately, the flood swept him away, saving his life. However, the water flow sent Koda to the vast wilderness far away from the tribe. Under the threat of extremely bad weather and extremely scarce resources, Koda embarked on a journey home. During the journey, Koda met a lone wolf, who became his travel companion. He named it Alpha. Alpha is the leader of the wolf pack. In his relationship with Alpha, Koda learned many skills to survive in the wilderness, and was also awakened to the wolf nature in his heart.
