The series is based on Yoshihiro Togashi's legendary manga, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump for four consecutive years since 1990 and published by Shueisha. The story of the manga revolves around Yusuke Urameshi, who fights all day and dies in an accident to protect a child. After his death, he can still see his body lying on the ground. Just as he is stunned, a woman named Mudan claims to be a guide to the spirit world and comes to convey a shocking fact to him: the spirit world did not expect that a bad boy like Yusuke Urameshi would die for doing good deeds, and he has no place in heaven or hell.
