If the Japanese succeeded, the situation along the Nujiang River would be in danger, which would directly affect the anti-fascist war. Therefore, the military decided to send a special team to cross the Nujiang River and sneak into the Wild Man Mountain to stop the Japanese conspiracy. The members of the special team overcame the harsh natural environment of the Wild Man Mountain, fought wits and courage with the Japanese army step by step, and launched a fierce and tragic struggle. At the same time, the 36th Army of the National Army stationed along the Nujiang River worked closely with the Tengchong Communist Party underground party to rescue hostages, contain the Japanese army, and provide cover and support for the team's actions. After several ups and downs, the special team went in and out of the Wild Man Mountain twice, and finally destroyed the Japanese conspiracy at the critical moment of the crisis, making a significant contribution to the reversal of the war situation. Soon after, the expeditionary force used Yeren Mountain as a breakthrough point and launched the prelude to the strategic counter-offensive in western Yunnan.
