In 1944, at Columbia University, the young student Allen Ginsberg (Daniel Radcliffe) changed his life trajectory because of a handsome classmate named Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan). Through Carr, he met William S. Burrows (Ben Foster) and Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston). The masters of Beat literature who would write masterpieces such as "Howl", "Naked Lunch" and "On the Road" in the future were just young people. Because of Carr, they enthusiastically launched a cultural movement called "New Vision" and formed an intimate world of four people. Outside this world, a middle-aged man named David Cameron (Michael C. Hall) is looking in with greedy and admiring eyes. He is Carr's teacher, guardian, follower and... lover? When Cameron's body was found in the Hudson River near the campus one night, the young people found themselves involved in a murder case full of emotional turbulence. The free world was completely crushed, and they went their separate ways with heavy hearts... This film is adapted from a true story, telling the "small revolution" experienced by future literary masters in their growing years, playing the first movement of the birth of the "Beat Generation" with black notes. British child star Daniel Radcliffe plays the famous gay poet Ginsberg in the film, successfully washing away the traces left by Harry Potter. "Kill Your Darlings" was shortlisted for the 29th Sundance International Film Festival's US Main Competition Unit.
