In the church, a couple, Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Jim (David Conrad), are getting married. Suddenly, someone who no one can see asks Melinda for help. It turns out that Melinda has had a unique ability to communicate with ghosts since she was a child, just like her grandmother.
