The story takes place in Hokkaido in 1994. Shikano Yasuaki (Oizumi Yo) suffers from a rare muscular atrophy. Only his head and hands can move, but even so, Shikano still yearns for a free life. He decided to leave the hospital, a prison-like place, without authorization. With the help of a large number of volunteers, Shikano lived his ideal unfettered life as he wished, but he seemed to be too unfettered, so he always made outrageous requests like "I want to eat bananas in the middle of the night". Tanaka (Miura Haruma) is one of the many volunteers who takes care of Shikano. The willful and casual Shikano makes him very headache. One day, Tanaka's girlfriend Misaki (Takahata Mitsuki) came to visit Shikano's home, and Shikano fell in love with her at first sight.
