In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of India's independence, the film brings together the gold award-winning teams of the British, American and Indian film circles to create a masterpiece. In 1947, the British government appointed the last Governor-General, who was also the uncle of Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Mountbatten, and his family to arrive in India to assist in the independence and peaceful transfer of power between India and Pakistan after World War II. However, as history has proven, the process of national separation was not as smooth as imagined. Inside and outside the Governor's House, everything from national love to love between men and women is entangled in this turbulent and shocking epic. This film is based on a historical perspective, with grand scenes and careful details. Classic figures (such as India's founding father Gandhi) are intertwined with dramatic characters. It is a tribute to her motherland by British Indian female director Gurland Chadda, who spent more than ten years of personal effort to prepare, write and direct it herself. The film also brought together three generations of actors from Britain, the United States, India and other places. The cast is full of actors with strong acting skills.
