The story describes the birth of the Kano baseball team in Taiwan in 1929, which is composed of Han, Yamato and aboriginal peoples. The new coach aims to "enter Koshien" and trains the players with a Spartan-style strict attitude. The originally undisciplined team gradually stimulates the players' will to win and determination to advance to Koshien after more than a year of devilish training and repeated defeats by the coach. In 1931, the Kano baseball team defeated the undefeated champion "Taipei Commercial Team" formed by the Japanese, becoming the first baseball team to win the island championship south of the Zhuoshui River. In addition, it represented Taiwan to compete in Koshien in Japan.
