James Franco has been planning to bring the filming process of the cult movie "The Room" to the screen since last year. Recently, the film not only confirmed the title "The Disaster Artist", but also found New Line Cinema, which mainly invests in horror movies, to take over. "The Room", released in 2003, is a cult movie written, directed and acted by Tommy Wiseau. The film is regarded by many as one of the worst movies. However, the film is completely rotten in style and realm, and is even called "the Citizen Kane of the bad movie world". The film basically revolves around the love triangle between the protagonist played by Tommy Wiseau, his fiancée and his best friend. Whether it is the actors' poor acting skills, the twists and turns of the plot or the camera movements without aesthetics, they are all impressive. In 2013, Greg Gozestro and Tom Bissell, one of the actors in "The Room", jointly published "The Disaster Artist", reviewing the filming process of the film. Gozestro wrote in the book that Tommy Wiseau had no experience in filmmaking when he started shooting this film. Franco will be directing the film and will also play Tommy Wiseau, while his brother Dave Franco will play Greg Gozestro. Franco's good friend Seth Rogen is also in talks to produce the film, and Evan Goldberg, Vince Jolivette and Franco himself are also producing. Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, screenwriters of the romantic films The Fault in Our Stars and The Horizon, have written the script for the film. Filming is scheduled to begin on December 7 this year.
