One day in January 1989, pastor Don Piper (Hayden Christensen) was in a serious car accident on his way home. When the paramedics arrived, they determined that he had no signs of life. Unexpectedly, an hour and a half later, he miraculously woke up and claimed that he had seen the whole picture of heaven during the time he lost consciousness. With the devout prayers of his friends and the careful care of his wife Eva (Kate Bosworth), Don finally recovered and started a new life. This film is adapted from the 2004 New York Times bestseller of the same name, written by Don Piper based on his personal experience.
