The story begins in 1923 in the Guadalupe Desert in California, where legendary director Cecile B. DeMille is filming a silent epic called The Ten Commandments. The film was based on DeMille's own ideas, and was completely different from the famous version starring Charlton Heston that DeMille filmed again 33 years later (1956). However, the frequent bizarre deaths on the set troubled DeMille - what was even more terrifying was that the causes and conditions of death of these people were very similar to those of the legendary ancient Egyptian god of death, Anubis. In the end, the filming of the film was completed, but no one knew that the ancient Egyptian relics used on the set had awakened evil spirits. DeMille ordered people to bury the extra props under the yellow sand... More than 80 years later, Mark, a retired veteran from the Iraqi battlefield, assisted his elderly grandfather to the filming location of the year. Mark's grandfather hoped to dig out the relics that he had buried with his own hands when he was a child. Meanwhile, Dr. Alice Carter leads a group of students to explore the heart of the desert, also to find DeMille's relics. Mark and his grandfather soon join Alice's team. Needless to say, Alice and Mark quickly develop a crush. But with the appearance of Alice's fiancé, Dr. Jesse Carter, who is good at playing with women, the relationship between the few becomes complicated. Soon, Mark and his grandfather find the exact excavation site, and the demon similar to Anubis reappears and starts killing crazily. It can turn the life it touches into yellow sand, and release poisonous scorpions and snakes, or create a giant sandstorm that looks like a cobra. In the process of searching for the truth, Mark and Alice also meet a weird old British man and an annoying farmer who complains about lice on his butt all day long.
