The film tells the story of Tong Qigang (played by Wang Yizhou), a man from the grassroots, and Sun Wanquan (played by Wu Xudong), a soldier of the National Army, who were originally at loggerheads because of personal grudges. However, they were responsible for resisting the Japanese invaders and saving the nation. Facing the brutal acts of the invaders, the two enemies, under the inspiration and guidance of Zhu Yanming (played by Wang Xin), the political commissar of the Lincheng Detachment of the Eighth Route Army, and Li Muxia (played by Alia), the instructor, put aside their personal grudges, shared the same hatred, and became comrades-in-arms to fight against the invaders. During the period, they faced several dangerous situations, risked their lives, ignored self-sacrifice, and cooperated tacitly to blow up the Japanese invaders' hidden airport, destroying the enemy's sinister conspiracy.
