The film is the first collaboration between the director of Quartet, Yuyasu Doi, and the screenwriter, Yuji Sakamoto. The story tells the story of a man and a woman who met by chance after missing the last train at Meidaimae Station in Tokyo, and then started a five-year love affair in which the era, time, place, and all the coincidences were synchronized like fate, showing how they were confused in the period when they were neither adults nor children.
