Captain Frank (Dennis Quaid) has been dealing with airplanes for many years. This time he will be in charge of a "Phoenix" cargo plane to transport a group of oil workers and supplies to Beijing. However, to his surprise, the plane encountered a storm on the way, and Frank had to make an emergency landing on the deserted Gobi Desert in Inner Mongolia.
