British singer and actor Paloma Faith plays Alfred's opponent Bet Sykes, an energetic, sadistic, and sharp-tongued villain; Polly Walker, an actor from Rome, plays Bet's sister Peggy Sykes, who is "the busiest and most successful female dominatrix in Lancashire (the kind in SM)", and she is also a reasonable parent in a mentally ill family, very loyal, resourceful, and has her own strange but strict moral code; Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) plays the villain Lord Harwood.
