Cinemax announced that it has booked the pilot episode "Dragon Warrior" which is executive produced and directed by Justin Lin and written by Jonathan Tropper, the creator of "Banshee". The pilot episode is inspired by the project written by Bruce Lee. The background of the pilot episode is Chinatown in San Francisco after the American Civil War. "Dragon Warrior" tells the story of a young martial arts master who came from China and found himself involved in a bloody war in Chinatown. "Dragon Warrior" was a project that Bruce Lee spent many years researching during his lifetime, but it was not produced or published in the end. It was his daughter Shannon Lee who found a large number of manuscripts related to the project when she was sorting out his belongings. Later, she and the production company sold the project to Cinemax in 2015.
