Variety reports: Jessica Chastain and Andrew Garfield will star in the [Fox Searchlight] biopic "Eyes of Tammy Faye". The work is adapted from the 2000 documentary of the same name, telling the story of the ups and downs of Tammy Faye (Jessica Chastain) and Jim Baker (Andrew Garfield) as a couple of TV evangelists. In the 1970s and 1980s, Tammy Faye and Jim Baker rose from poverty to create the world's largest religious radio and television network and a theme park at the time, which made them admired. However, the good times did not last long. Financial misconduct, scheming competitors and the outbreak of sex scandals caused the couple's marriage to break up, causing the empire they carefully built to collapse. The film will be directed by "The Big Sick" director Michael Showalter. Jessica Chastain will serve as the producer of the film.
