In 1944, World War II was drawing to a close. In the eastern Soviet-German battlefield, in order to destroy the last resistance of the fascists, the Red Army sent a seven-man reconnaissance team headed by Lieutenant Travkin (Igor Petrenko). They were going to go deep behind enemy lines to find out the enemy's troop deployment. This dangerous mission has already resulted in the sacrifice of many soldiers, but the brave reconnaissance team members resolutely set out. Before leaving, Travkin agreed with the communications soldier Katya (Yekaterina Vulichenko) to use "stars" and "earth" as the code for each other to communicate on the radio waves. The reconnaissance team successfully sneaked into the enemy's rear and sent back valuable intelligence one after another. The German army, aware of the threat of the reconnaissance team, was like a great enemy and sent heavy troops to block traffic, causing the reconnaissance team to suffer huge losses. Travkin faced the situation of losing his comrades and the radio station, but decided to move on and complete his last mission... The film won many awards including the 2002 Honfleur Russian Film Festival Award.
