Igarashi Dai was born in a small port town in Miyagi Prefecture. He was raised by his loving deaf-mute parents. Being a "translator" for his mother was part of his daily routine. However, gradually, he could not stand the strange looks from people around him, and a gap arose between him and his mother. Finally, at the age of 20, he ran away from home and went to Tokyo... Director Wu Meibao's 2014 work "Only There Shines" won the first place in the "Film Junpo" annual top ten and represented Japan in the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. After that, she left filmmaking for a while. This film is her return work after nine years, focusing on the identity dilemma of minority groups and the daily emotions between parents and children. In the film, Ryo Yoshizawa plays the protagonist who shuttles and struggles between the "sound" and "silent" worlds, and a large number of sign language performances without dialogue are impressive.
